Introduction

To raise the status and professionalism of retailing through education and training, Certificate and Professional Diploma programmes organized by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) were introduced in 2013 and 2017 respectively. A special price has been offered for HKRMA members.

Programme Aims

​

The programmes are special designed for retail managers and practitioners, with an aim to equip them with the necessary technical and professional knowledge and skills, via the blending of theoretical knowledge and practical application, to enable them to pursue a career in retail management.

​

Target Participants

​

  • Suitable for shop managers and practitioners

  • Suitable for Foundation Diploma graduates of Earn & Learn Pilot Scheme for Retail Industry

Programme Content and Fee

Programme Structure

​

(a) Certificate in Retail Sales and Management (Cert. RM)

(b) Professional Diploma in Retail Management (PDRM)

Upon successful completion of the following 7 modules and pass the assessment with minimum 70% attendance.

(c) Professional Diploma in Retail Management (PDRM)

Upon successful completion of the following 6 modules and pass the assessment with minimum 70% attendance.

Special Discount

HKRMA member companies could enjoy the following special price:

  1. For Cert in RM HK$2,400/module, total HK$ 9,600 (4 modules)

  2. For PDRM, HK$ 36,286

  3. For PDROM, HK$ 35,910

Application

Entrance Requirement

​

  • Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent with relevant working experience; or
     

  • Five HKCEE subjects at Grade E/Level 2 or above, including English and Chinese Languages, or equivalent with relevant working experience ; or
     

  • Completion of a QF Level 3 programme or above that is deemed acceptable to the "Programme Board" with relevant working experience; or
     

  • Relevant Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) qualification(s) at QF Level 3 or above AND a pass in the entrance assessment, which can be either oral or written; or
     

  • Other relevant verifiable prior learning and/or work experience that is/are deemed appropriate by "Programme Board" AND a pass in the entrance assessment, which can be either oral or written; or
     

  • Mature applicants, i.e. those aged 21 or above with at least two years' relevant work experience, may also be accepted. Where appropriate, the applicant may be required to pass the entrance assessment, which can be in an oral and/or written form.
